The Nights Are Long, But The Years Are Short

EDB58E9D-9BEB-4B21-9941-4236548591B7.jpegTonight is especially rough as my little one is having a hard time falling asleep. I’ve moved her to her toddler bed and she’s been doing so well. I sit with her till she falls asleep and then I go to bed. But tonight is a long drawn out camp out.

In these situations, I try to think of the positives. I remember to cherish these times. To be firm in discipline but also loving and empathetic. It’s so frustrating to wait and wait. Get up and wake her up as I’m leaving her room. So then I have to sit back down again and wait and wait. I started trying to let her know that I’m going to mommy’s bed today. And that she can fall asleep on her own. It seemed to work today after some coaxing and a talk through. But I think it will be a process.

So in these moments I try to cherish the time I get to be with her.

I keep remembering a phrase I read once, “the nights are long but the years are short.”

I’ve cut my tummy size in half in three days!

I have been losing a half a pound a day on this new diet. I am able to stay moderately satisfied and I am eating delicious food!

My goal is to slim down and get rid of dangerous belly fat. I even saw results on the first day! Sounds too good to be true right? But it is true!  I have morphed the Keto diet and other tips and tricks to get where I am at now and I’m loving it!  So here are some simple easy tips to start losing weight. And I don’t follow the keto diet exactly. I take it’s common core principles and I customize it to fit my needs.

  1. High Protein- eggs, chicken, fish, peanut butter
  2. Good Fats-avocados, 1/2 cup milk twice a week
  3. High Fiber- green beans (fresh not in a can) squash, leafy lettuce, black beans and garlic
  4. Sweets- peanut butter, berries, yogurt, apples, pears, ect
  5. Dressings-small olive oil, vinegar, lemon
  6. Lasagna noodles- try slicing eggplant and breading it. Crisp up in the oven.   Use a tomato and yellow pepper sauce. Tiny amounts of cheese once a week are ok.

Things to AVOID at all costs-

•Granola bars are usually full of sugar.

•Salt- tiny amounts are ok

•Pork & high fat Beef(use in small moderation)

•large amounts of bread

•high sugar high fat condiments such as ranch, Caesar, mayo

•high fat dairy- best to keep dairy at a minimum

•canned anything

•prepackaged (production) foods

•chips, candy, chocolates,

•fried foods

Tips:

  1. Vegetables are a great way to feel full and eat a lot! To lose weight fast most of what you should eat is veggies
  2. Cut out most of your fruits. Use in small moderation. Oranges especially contain a lot of sugar.
  3. Vinegar- YES! Add vinegar to your diet ( a couple tablespoons a day will cut belly fat!) some great ways to add vinegar are – a small splash while cooking your eggs, – vinegar dressings, tarragon vinegar to tomatoes, balsamic vinegar to salads and chicken
  4. Eat eggs! These are a protein packed tiny snack that has been proven to make you feel full!
  5. When you feel hungry, drink a half bottle of water. If you’re feeling really daring, drink a full bottle of water. This will help you feel full till the next meal.

Let’s substitute!!!

-Pasta- try spaghetti squash with some olive oil!

-Butter- try herbs for more flavor!

-Cream- plain yogurt

-French fries- breaded zucchini cut up into fries and baked! (A tiny breading is ok)

-mashed potatoes- try microwaving a sweet potato

-cold pasta salad- cube up tomato, grapes, fennel, zucchini, green onion garlic

Thick Soup- make a soup from low sodium chicken stock, butter nut squash or sweet potato, blend up with a small amount of fat free sour cream. (But generally stay away from sour cream!)

Things to note:

Work on cutting amounts of food

Work through the cravings

Coupled with daily walks does wonders

Benefits-

I see results on the very first day!

It’s day three now and I’ve cut my tummy size in half!!!!! This is why this is my favorite diet because it’s not excruciating like other diets.  Yes I still have to fight some cravings and a bit of hunger, but for the most part I’m satisfied!

I also feel much lighter than I actually am.

These types of foods gives me energy and I’m able to function much better throughout the day compared to when I eat burgers, French fries and buttery fast food!

Let me know if you want to try this too! What are your results?

Today…Has Been a Good Day.

CB71F96A-2EE9-4BF8-8B58-EE68B40E62AF.jpegToday has been a really good day actually.

I took my toddler daughter on a walk around the neighborhood early this morning. We saw lots of cool things like a big dark frog, and a boat out on a pond. We both ate a very healthy lunch of avacado, tomato, and oranges. So I’ve started a diet again to lose the pregnancy weight. I’m eating high protein, few calorie, low carb diet. It’s actually very easy. I just eat my favorite vegitables and lots of eggs. Sweet potatoes are also really yummy!

That’s what we are having tonight: sweet potatoes, poached eggs, and green beans.

We also read a bunch of books, and went to the splash pad. We didn’t stay long though, an older boy accidentally knocked my daughter into a pole and tripped over her. Total accident but she didn’t want to play anymore and wanted to go home. So then we washed up and took a 2 hour nap!!

And somewhere in there the song Baby Shark Doo Doo Doo makes its rounds in our daily life.

I’ve been pretty productive today. Cleaning, cooking and staying pretty positive for a Monday.

How’s your day going? I hope you are all doing well ❤️

A Not So Magical Disney Moment

Ack! Disney wasn’t magical? How can that be?!

The first trip that we took our 8 month old daughter to Disney World was amazing. She had such a great time and was really into meeting Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy.

The only problem was, I was holding in my hand the diaper that should have been on her bottom.

That’s right, she was diaper less (had a diaper cover on) and we were at the mercy of her bladder. Thankfully she didn’t have any accidents for the whole 20 minutes we waited in line and the 5-7 min of picture taking and greeting her favorite characters. But why wasn’t she wearing a diaper?

We had taken my husband’s parents with us and when we went to get in line we forgot the diaper bag back at the stroller. The baby of course had pee peed and was crying incessantly. The only way to save the situation was to take off her diaper and make her happy again. There was really no way around it. So we prayed she didn’t have to go anymore.

The picture we have clearly shows me holding a neatly folded used diaper in my hand. So much for the magic! Thankfully she was happy and giggly for Mickey and ever since then she’s loved her “Mocky Mouw.”

Mickeys not so scary Halloween party started last night!! And we are so excited to be bringing some Disney Magic to you! So let’s dive in and showcase the 2018 party fun!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed Party. We strongly advise buying tickets in advance as you get discounts and a lot of the party days sell out. The party usually starts at 4pm. Non-ticket holders are ushered out before the party starts.

Yes! You can wear costumes! Visit Disney.com for rules!

With the Sanderson sisters (Hocus Pocus) teaming up with other villains to cast a spell over Magic Kingdom, there will be plenty of opportunities to see some evil characters.

Main events:

Trick or Treating equals unlimited candy! Explore the park and grab candy at designated spots along the way. Bring your candy buckets or buy your favorite from one of the Disney stores! If you or your child has food allergies, Disney offers Teal bags and coins to trade in for special candy, stickers, and trinkets.

Another main event is the Boo To You Parade!

Catch the opportunity to see some really neat grave diggers create sparks on the walkway with their shovel shuffle! Also a great chance to see the Headless Horseman lead the entire parade!

Several rides are decked out with special features just for the party!

Space Mountain roller coaster goes completely dark! Even the stars are hidden! There is also a new soundtrack.

Pirates of the Caribbean has live action pirates as you wait in line!

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party boasts of a magical light show-it’s dazzling!

The fog all over the park also adds a really nice but spooky ambiance.

Be sure to check out these treats as well!

Pic Source: Popsugar.com

First off is the Haunted Mansions Hitchhiking Doom Buggy- the reviews though aren’t that great. Not a lot of flavor.

This Candy Corn Milkshake looks amazing! It includes vanilla cotton candy and a vanilla Mickey Mouse marshmallow.

What’s not to love about Jack Skellington from the Night Before Christmas?! These cake pops are super cute and we are so glad they brought back the design from last year.

Dirt and worms- this looks delicious! And even comes with a tombstone!

These are just several of the available desserts all throughout the parks!

According to WDW PrepSchool here is the best and worst places to see the fireworks throughout the park.

We are still awaiting the Tim Trackers video from last night! We know they were at Walt Disney World for the opening of Mickey’s Not Scary Halloween Party because pictures are starting to come in from the fans! Disney fans got a real treat seeing them last night!

Also they did post that they are working on one copyright issue that popped up right before posting so it is a matter of time before that video shows up! 🙂 we will post that video when it comes available.

But for right now here are two videos by Undercover Tourist for you to check out!

My Favorite Room in the House

I have a sunroom that is my little getaway cabin space. I sit out there and hear the insects signing their song, the birds chirping, and the distant whirring of cars driving down the road.

Sometimes we watch the bunnies eat clover in the backyard, or the squirrels play, or the birds finding worms in the grass. In a rare occasion a momma deer and her babies will stroll by.

The trees are so big and beautiful. I do a lot of my thinking out here while my daughter plays or eats a snack on the table. She loves to see the animals that live in our backyard too!

Lately I’ve been facing some writers block. So I’m hoping that being out here can settle my mind and get the creativity flowing again. We are going to Disney World again later this year, so we will have tons of new material then. We will be staying 9-10 days and experiencing a couple new things!

we will be doing the dining plan, Toy Story Land, and one of the main event after parties. We are super excited!

And of course I have to make some more Mickey ears before then 😉

Well I’m off to find some more inspiration!

Beauty Product Review:Mary Kay, Maybelline, Jamberry, The Color Workshop

Today I wanted to give you all a Makeup Review! Most of these products are from Mary Kay. But I do not work for this company NOR do I sell it. But I do enjoy most of their products!

Anyway, take a look at what I use everyday and my final look!

I love my Timewise Travel Set! After the second day of ever using it I could see a huge difference! My pores were smaller, and what little acne I had completely disappeared!

My face feels so refreshed after using the cleanser. Then the moisturizer is heavenly! This is actually only a 3 -step product. You use the pink in the morning and the gray at night, which also feels and smells amazing!

$25

The Corrector and Cc Cream by Mary Kay is great! It quickly erases the bags under my eyes while also highlighting and brightening my skin. The corrector is a peach tone color which counters the blue hues of the under eye areas. I also use my corrector as a foundation primer getting all the uneven spots first then blending everything together with the CC Cream. It’s very easy to apply as well!

Corrector $16, Foundation $20

For my contour and highlighting I use two products depending on what I need that day. Master bronze by Facestudio-Maybelline New York.

The other is the Nude Eyeshadow pallet by The Color Workshop. (Price?)

I use brushes and liquid eyeliner by The Color Workshop. I also use the liner for my brow color. It just makes them pop. (Price?)

The best mascara I have ever used is my current Lash Intensity tube by Mary Kay. I no longer use falsies because this product has a special wand that gives 200 % volume. There are two bristle lengths in the brush that allow for the maximum draw out of your eyelashes. I also do not have to do anything for my bottom lashes because the wand is perfect for catching both top and bottom at the same time! Bonus!

I pair it with Mary Kay eyeshadow-London Fog. This is a light grey purple.

Mascara-$18, Eyeshadow-$8

I originally was so excited to get this lotion. But once I got it I was not impressed. It left a greasy film on my legs and feet. The mint smell was a mix between tooth paste and vapor rub. VERY MINTY-BUT this is extremely uncommon for a negative review for Mary Kay, as all their other products make me feel like a million dollars!

$11

Now I’m so thrilled to tell you about the Lipbalms and glosses! Highly recommend the set! And again, I do not sell Mary Kay, I have just found a great consultant who introduced me to the products! I instantly fell in love with the beauty regiment! So first I use the lip scrub. I rinse it off and apply the balm. Both taste so yummy! The scent is White Tea & Citrus. Think spa day meets pleasant fruit. And I finish the look with Mary Kay’s Lip Gloss -Fancy Nancy $18, Lip Set-$22

Right now I’m in love with these colors! Business professional meets romantic! I use the warm plum by The Color Workshop. (Price?) Then I accent my ring finger with my Lovestruck Top Coat by Jamberry. $15-$18

And final result! Ta-Da! Mary Kay is awesome! A little pricey- but if you are willing to throw a Mary Kay party, a lot of this comes for free!

P.s. I put makeup on today just for you!(Usually I’m a bum because my daughter doesn’t need mommy to get all glammed up to play!) 💜

And of course I’m wearing my Winnie the Pooh Sweatshirt 😍 gotta show my Disney Spirit!

What do you use? What’s your absolute favorite product that makes you feel like a million dollars? If you’re a guy, let us know too! Yes! I know a lot of you guys are into beard oils and use products! 😀

How to Influence People

Firefly picture source: beautiful_earthy_things

I have recently had a couple trolls on my comments throughout WordPress World. It has me thinking a lot about our actions and their consequences. And also what makes one person stand out as a light in the world versus someone who chooses to spread lies and darkness.

So here is my list of what makes an exceptional person who influences people.

1. Don’t start or enter fights. Everyone has opinions, but it’s better to error on the side of caution for this one. Decide what you might say and review it in your mind before posting. Would your comment be beneficial or hurtful? Put yourself in their shoes.

2. Even if you are just entering a conversation, leave a comment that is not only engaging but encouraging. A little love can go a long way. If you are not one to use loving nicknames for strangers like love, lovely, friend, mate, ect. These can put your reader at ease and open the doors to their hearts and minds. Wishing them well, letting them know they are in your thoughts and prayers, and encouraging them through a tough situation (as if you are a close friend, even though you don’t even know them) will have a lasting and peaceful affect.

3. Never ever enter a battle with a troll. Don’t even go there. You won’t win that nasty fight. The best thing you can do is ignore them and extinguish whatever it is that attracted them to be so hateful. Nothing positive is ever gained by trying to win a negatively born argument.

4. Be true to yourself and others. When you do let your opinions be known, season your answers with Grace and back up your position with personal experiences. Don’t let anyone tell you what to think or how to feel. Unless you are trying to self help! Then yes of course, but I’m talking here about social media, complete strangers.

5. Get involved. Comment on people’s post. Encourage. Get to know. Participate. Like. Follow. Reblog. And Inspire. Be sure to let the writer know how much you appreciate them sharing and what about it was impactful to you. And be ready to learn something new!

Out of The Blogging Office for Most of the Day ;)

Hello everyone! I will not be on here very much today because we have traveled to see our daughter’s cardiologist. When she was born, she was found to have a PFO (hole) in her heart. These can be very life threatening when the patient gets older.

I am extremely nervous which is very peculiar because after the last two exams, they are predicting that it might be closed up by now.

We will let you know the results probably later tonight or tomorrow!

Say some prayers for us as there are a lot of emotions involved. We just want her to be healthy and have nothing hindering her beautiful life.

Tarragon Lemon Pepper Baked Flounder

I think this is one of the most prettiest dishes I have ever made! And it tasted so good too!

I made a butter, lemon, fresh tarragon sauce, and a lemon parsley tarragon butter rice. And then for the mushrooms can you guess what I flavored those with? You got it! Butter, & Tarragon Vinegar!

The flounder was so moist. I’m not usually a seafood eater, but I have my moments. And flounder is my favorite.

Thank you to all the bloggers who inspired me! I searched the other day for baked fish recipes, and this was my take on all that inspiration goodness!

What is your favorite fish to eat?

New Adventures and Letting Fears Go

I’m a stay at home mom, and for the last two years I have struggled with what is my identity and fears that have held me back (see previous post).

I often would rather stay home instead of getting out and doing something.

I have since had a longing to become someone useful in my community not just in my child’s life.

I thought about going back to work but quickly realized at the interview process that I wasn’t ready to devote that much time away from my little one.

But today I will be having an “interview meeting” with some very special individuals who are investing in marriages!

I am seeking a position on their board!

I’m so excited as this presents an opportunity to pour into other’s lives, and to volunteer for something bigger than myself. The organization that I will most likely be supporting focuses on premarital and marriage advice and growth. We shall see if they think I’m a good fit and a beneficial addition to their team!

I’ve started to let go of my fears (see my daughter’s story-previous post). And that means getting involved with people!

What do you like to pour yourself into outside of work? What organizations speak directly to your heart?

Stay Strong,

Mrs. M ❤️

Best Friends & A Disney Dumbo Party

My toddler daughter has a friend who is only 32 days older than she is and they are quickly becoming best friends. The two of them are cute as buttons 💜

So today I hosted a Disney Dumbo Party for the two of them. We had cotton candy, circus peanuts, animal crackers, and hotdogs with ketchup of course! We also had juice and a fruit medley.

I’m not sure how much we all watched the movie 😉 but they sure partied it up!

They even decorated matching heart-shaped boxes for all their “treasures,” played with the princess castle and ran all over the place squealing as loud as they could.

They had so much fun! This stage of life is just the best. They are learning everything; life is so new. Almost anything fills their little eyes with wonder. And they love their friends so deeply💜🎀

Mine is the One Shoe Wonder as I like to call her. She’s always losing a shoe. Just like Cinderella 😂

6-9/64+ Disney Movie Reviews by Blooms&Beautifuls: Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Lady & The Tramp, Pooh’s Grand Adventure

Today we will be sharing with you our reviews of Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Lady & The Tramp, and Pooh’s Grand Adventure.

First up…

Cinderella -100% Disney Magic

We expect no less than 100% Disney Magic from Cinderella! She’s Iconic! Not just as a princess, but in the music as well. What’s not to love about every single kind-hearted character in this film? The Magic is everywhere and every scene is full of charm and class!

The Little Mermaid -100% Disney Magic

This was one of my favorite stories when I was younger. It was so much fun rewatching it and remembering all the Magic this movies offers. Yes, she got 100% for her classic movie scenes, iconic sing-a-long songs, and the love and happy ever after ending.

Lady & The Tramp -95% Disney Magic

Almost every scene is filled with love, and so much joy! Although the songs are not as iconic as many other Disney movies, we do love “This Is The Night.” My least favorite song is sung by the Siamese cats. But I would watch this movie again very soon!

Pooh’s Grand Adventure -86% Disney Magic

This movie was funny, meaningfully quotable, and the music reminded me of the Walt Disney Magic Kingdom Theme Park. It was boring in a bunch of areas though and I had a hard time focusing. The ending was so sentimental and perfect!

So there you have it! Until next time!

These Mickey Ears are trimmed with our signature silver twisty rope and feature a stunning purple swirl pattern. Although the picture does not do it justice, the fabric, when in the path of the sun, reflects thousands of tiny sparkles.  In the center is a white satin bow.

The inspiration behind these ears is Princess Sofia The First.

As always we do not sell our ears due to Disney Copyright. But we do keep them for our personal one-of-a-kind collection.

He’s 30! Golden Birthday Celebration

My hubby who is also co-author to our blog, turned 30 earlier this year! It was his golden birthday too which meant he was 30 on the 30th! We celebrated with a surf and turf feast! Snow crab, king crab legs, lobster tails, and shrimp Skewers, and sweet potatoes. I’m not a huge fan of seafood so he and our toddler daughter got to eat it all!

I am so blessed to walk through life with this guy. He’s smart, funny, and an awesome dad.

He actually started and fueled my Disney obsession. He has a hard time relaxing because he works hard all the time. But something about planning Disney trips changed his life a few years ago. I obviously jumped on board as soon as I saw that it was genuinely making him a happier person. We have bonded over our mutual obsession with everything Mickey Mouse and become even better best friends that we were before ❤️

So here’s to my other half! Happy Birthday John! Can’t wait till our next adventure!

Time for some Disney Window Shopping: Backpacks & Bags

This is the one I want, unfortunately, I couldn’t find it on the massive list!
Very reasonably priced! I might have to get one! 😍

Ouch! Look at that price tag! If we become Disney Vacation Club Members, ill have to look into this category of Bags!

Not a bad price at all! We can’t wait to see Aulani Disney resort in Hawaii on our way to Tokyo, Japan (Disneyland Tokyo) someday in the near future. At least that’s one of our goals.

Ok I kind of like this one. I love that it’s Pooh, but… I’m not a fan of the bold black.

I love Bags. Right now I have a black bag with Mickey’s face and the name Mickey spelled in gold. I would never spend that much for bags though because I would probably get it dirty or lose it.

Let me know which is your favorite!

5/64 Disney Movie Reviews hot off the Blooms & Beautifuls Press

Today we are reviewing Tarzan, Bolt, Pocahontas, Frozen, & Coco.

We have run each movie through a 10 question test that checks their Disney Magic levels 🙂

There will be over 64 movies that we review. Today we will be releasing the first 5 movie reviews we’ve completed.

Tarzan -100% Disney Magic!

This movie has one of the best soundtracks in all the Disney world. Phil Collins made this movie what it is- A very successful and entertaining feature for everyone. And of course shout out to *NSYNC for Trashin the Camp!

Frozen -99% Disney Magic

Frozen also has a soundtrack that is amazing all on its own. The only issue I had was that they should have gotten married at the end! Anna & Kristoff are obviously in love. There should have been a spectacular wedding at the end 🙂 This movie is amazing though, and I would watch it over and over. And who is my favorite character? Olaf of course! What an adorably naive snowman 💜

Pocahontas -32% Disney Magic

This movie just doesn’t do it for me. It misses the mark on all the criteria. Yes she is a Disney Icon, but that’s all she has going for her. Although there was a thrilling scene almost right from the start, everything else fell short. I found it boring, corny, and the only song that gave her some points was Colors of the Wind. What’s not to love about that song! There were some funny moments. But let’s talk about the ending. Yes she saved her true love, but she didn’t even marry him as we can tell from the movie. Also we did not find out if John Smith even survived his bullet wounds. We can assume he did….? For me I would not watch this again anytime soon. Sorry, that’s just my personal opinion 💜 I love Pocahontas herself though. She’s a very beautiful Iconic Disney Princess.

Bolt -83% Disney Magic

Bolt is going to get high marks because it is a funny movie! It had me laughing all the way through and that is quite spectacular for a movie to get that many belly laughs. My favorite character from this feature is Rhino the Hamster. 🐹 This guy is hilarious! But every magical Disney movie has to have great songs, and Bolt just doesn’t have any of those. That and the fact that it isn’t a Disney classic or icon film is the reason it didn’t receive higher points. It was an exceptional movie. One that I would watch again in the near future!

Coco -82% Disney Magic

This movie is one of my favorites! Pixar does a fantastic job with colors in their movies and this film is not lacking any of the hues in the rainbow. The twist of the plot at the end is great as well. It adds a layer of satisfaction. Beautifully themed, the storyline is creative and oriented around family. I’m looking at my questions, and I think I could have given it just a few more points because I really enjoyed this movie! But the rules state whatever number comes to mind first, and sticks is most likely the most accurate representation for each question. Coco does lack in not being a classic. It lacks in music. Although it is all about music- will I remember the songs in a week? Probably not. But this movie is an entertainer for sure!

And there you have it! The first 5 reviews hot off the Blooms & Beautifuls Press.

These are just my opinions, but overall I think they are very accurate representations of those opinions. I was surprised at the variety of points today. And that’s a good thing. You don’t want them all jumbled around the same range of percentage because that means you didn’t rate them fairly.

There will be lots more coming! Thanks for checking in! And be sure to follow us for more movie reviews and Disney Fun!

9 Day Park Hopper: Curing Your Sore Feet

When you go to Walt Disney World, you walk, ALOT! You can easily walk 14 miles a day.

After a couple days, I start to get some pretty heavy pains in my feet, ankles, and lower calves. So please gear up for the long haul. It is extremely important to having a great time!

I’ll admit this is the first trip I’ve ever prepared for- for foot pain! And we’ve been there 3 times already! Our second time I even became really sick because I pushed myself so hard. Nobody likes achy feet and irritability.

The key to getting rid of this problem I believe, would be something cold around the feet. I am going to try and test this theory later this year at the parks. We will see how it goes 🙂 So here are the products that I’m looking into to getting ready for our 9 day stay at the WDW.

I have a feeling this one above would become too warm. I try to keep my ankles open but socks and tennis shoes are a must.

Also take along some Lavender Essential Oils as this can alleviate pain and soreness.

Of course I will be taking along Advil as well. 🙂

Let me know what you do to make your long walk adventures less painful! 💜

Our Frozen Night & The Exciting Disney Conspiracy Theory that has us Believing

Tonight we decided to have a Norway Frozen night. That means watching Frozen and cooking Norwegian inspired dishes: blueberry balsamic chicken and blueberry cake.

But the real magic is the conspiracy we just found on the internet and it has me believing! Ahhhhh! Super excited because it just adds to the Disney Magic.

So here it goes- Tarzan is Princess Elsa & Princess Ana’s LITTLE BROTHER!!! What?? Yes!

So what these articles are saying is that Elsa and Ana’s parents shipwrecked, but survived. The shipwreck is the same one that Ariel explores in The Little Mermaid. They were pregnant and had Tarzan. Unfortunately they were eaten by the leopard Sabor.

Ok this one is actually believable and the director of Frozen, who came up with the theory is Also the director of Tarzan. Hmmmmmmm

Although he says nothing is official, he does state,

“Whatever people want to believe, go for it,” he said. “That’s the spirit of Disney.”

You can read the full article here

Naan Bread Pizza’s on the Grill

Happy Sunday Everybody! Here in the USA, we love our pizza! And because our nation is so large we have a variety of regional pizza pies. We have the deep dishes from Chicago

the thin large pizzas from New York,

and over in California, they create all kinds of garden topping varieties that lean more on the healthier side.

But here in our household we have created a pizza that  has naan bread for its base and its grilled to perfection! So here’s how we make it!

First we start off with the sauce:

Tomato paste,

Italian seasonings

Fennel

There are two more ingredients but they are secret! They not only brighten up the sauce but balance the tang as well. I would share them with you but we want to start a food truck someday. If that dream ever happens we can’t be giving out the perfect ingredients 😉

So here’s the process of how we build the pies: you’ll have to excuse our pics as they don’t look as professional as the ones from Pinterest from up above 🙂 but our pizza tastes AMAZING!

Oh I do need to add, usually I put mushrooms and onions on my pizza, but mushrooms weren’t on sale today, and I’ll probably just add the green onions 🙂

All about that sauce! 🙂 it’s sweet and tangy and well balanced with tons of Italian flavor!

These salamis are a combo of Salchichon, Chorizo, and Salami Duro

We add shredded mozzarella,

Then topped it with thick slices of fresh mozzarella,

And there’s the final product! The Smokey flavor from the grill adds a really nice element.

What’s your favorite pizza dish?

Moving on Up to the Toddler Bed: from the Mommy Files

Today’s a big day for our little one! We took the side off the crib and turned it into a toddler bed! Of course being the super Disney fans that we are, it had to be Disney princess themed. So we went out to our local stores and looked for a tiny bed set. Finally we found one. It’s so cute. It came with a Disney Princess pillow cover, a bed cover, a sheet, and a comforter. She was so excited when we unveiled it to her! And of course her little doggy has to sleep in her bed too! The puppy was reluctant of first but I think she will become a huge fan of a nice soft bed soon 🙂 unfortunately our little girl was soooo excited for her “preeeteee beddy” that she wasn’t able to fall asleep for her nap. We will try again tonight. Eventually she will crash at some point. Right? 😁

Let us know how you got your little one to use their toddler bed. I may need some tricks of the trade 😉

Our Daughters Story: Survival & Strength (Blog Post #3)

I am honestly scared and intimidated to get down to the nitty gritty of our very personal trauma. But I want to help others facing similar circumstances.

So here it is. Laying it all out there with the hope that you see how Good and merciful God is. I hope you know how real He is. Only He could have brought us through.

So on February 2, 2017, at 9:36 am our baby girl was born! Everything was normal. She was a big girl weighing in at 8 pounds 2 ounces. After an hour of skin to skin, I thought she had fallen asleep and we were just resting. The nurse happened to come back in and check on us. Something that she wouldn’t do at this stage. But she did. She came straight over to me and snatched my baby off me and ran her over to the baby table for examination. After quickly looking at her she scooped her back up and ran out of the room saying she’s not breathing. I can’t tell you how badly that hurt. The shock, being too tired from giving birth to really comprehend everything going on

around me. I just remember pleading with God for my child’s life. I told God , I already suffered a miscarriage, don’t make me lose this baby too. But if it’s your will then it’s ok because it’s what’s best. I don’t understand how I could think that. But it lasted a very short time before the panic and searing pain of not knowing whether I had lost my child started to kick in. John of course, was there and my mom was there for the birth and was quickly at my side after having stepped out to make the phone call that baby had arrived. We quickly made calls to the rest of the family and told them to get there as quick as possible (to meet her in case the worst happened.) I sent John to be with our little girl because I couldn’t get out of my bed at that point. I needed to know whether she was alive. He watched her crash to

30 % oxygen and doctors bagging her for over 1 1/2 hours to save her. I was finally able to go see her and talk to her as they thought that might help her fight: to have her mommy talk to her. And of course because I wanted to be with her. She was the only baby in the baby nursery which they had turned into a makeshift operating room. (They don’t have a pediatric intensive care unit). Curtains were quickly closed on all sides of the room to make sure no other new moms and dads could see what was happening. I hate that memory. At that point I was terrified. I began realizing how bad this was. That any minute could be my last with her. I got to hold her hand for a couple minutes before they told me to step back. (They had to get tubes in her throat.)

I looked like crap. And everyone was watching me and I could see the concern and sadness on all the nurses and my families faces. It’s not what you want to experience at all on the first of your daughter’s birthdays. I was taken back to my recovery room where I needed to start my recovery process. Family and friends started pouring in and waiting with us. By this time our pastor was already there. All of us waited and talked and made calls to extended family. No one knew the outcome. So I was then told that I needed to prepare for when the ambulance would arrive and get my daughter. (Because there was no PICU, she needed transfered about 45-50 minutes away to a larger hospital.) I was told I would have a few minutes with her before they needed to take her away. But that she would be on a stretcher in a incubator box. They worked on her for an hour or so with the team who was brought in the ambulance from the big hospital. The doctor, and 2 nurses I believe, and they finally wheeled her into my room. I’ll never forget that scene. The two ambulance drivers were staring at me then staring at the ground. You could see the worry in their eyes. I’m confined to my bed and am able to look over to my sweet little baby all wrapped up in tubing and wires inside this clear box. Doctors and nurses and medical emotional support staff and family filled the small recovery room. And they started briefing me on what they did to get her going again and what would need to continue happening to keep her stable in transferring her to the bigger hospital. Then they left.

Minutes turned into hours. I was told by my doctor and a nurse that there was a chance that I could be released that night to go see baby if I got recovered in time and if it wasn’t dangerous to my health. I got a fire inside that started a drive that I was going to do everything it took to make that happen. I had to first eat my first meal and some other stuff. I told them I’d do anything whatever it took. So I chose meat loaf as my meal. (What the heck was I thinking.) It was gross. But I proved them all that I was going to go that night to see her ASAP. And 8 hours after giving birth I was free to go!

John had already gone to the hospital to be with her. I told him he had to be with her; she needed to hear one of our voices to keep on fighting. He was able to inform me that they had safely gotten her there but that she had crashed again upon arriving. They were able to stabilize her once more and that had she made it. So my parents got me loaded into the car and off we drove to be with my baby.

On the way, John texted me saying that they had run her brain scan to see how much damage if there had been any from being without oxygen. (At this point we had no clue how long she had been without oxygen, I hadn’t even been thinking of organ damage so it freaked me out. I was also overjoyed because the text message said THERE WAS NO DAMAGE!) I began to worry about other organs but at least for now her brain was unaffected by whatever happened that morning!

So began our long 1st week.

Now for the really hard stuff. Some details that we did not mention to social media due to not being able to process the downright scary situations.

She developed a rash looking thing very quickly. Looked like tiny purple pin pricks all over her body. (We found out the details at the end of the first week when they reviewed her medical papers to us.) That “rash” was all of her blood vessels exploding to push all her blood back to her heart to save her life. Basically her body was shutting down and she was dying. And we could see the physical effects from it for most of the week. The doctor said she only had a minute or 2 left to live. It was a miracle they got her in time.

That has haunted me and will continue to do so the rest of my life. I pray it didnt physically pain her.

Secondly, we were warned there was most likely “Extensive” damage to her organs especially her kidneys (from all the tubing procedure and no oxygen).

But. God.

When they ran the ultrasounds and scans NO DAMAGE WAS FOUND ANYWHERE! How is this possible? People who have gone without oxygen for less time than she did, -they have extensive brain injury and organ damage. Only God could have saved her from this experience! Only God. Finally after a couple of days the doctors were comfortable telling us there was a good chance we would be taking our daughter home with us when this ordeal was finally over.

They do not know what caused her to stop breathing. We will most likely never know. And that’s hard to deal with. I often wonder about future children. Could it happen again to either her or our other babies as well?

Then trouble began to hit again.

Towards the end of the week she had high blood pressure and we needed to see some doctors very soon after coming home.

We returned home and the pediatrician told us to get the first appointment we could get with a pediatric cardiologist 45 min away. He was very concerned. So I get a call and they wanted to see her that morning ASAP. So I rush -get her ready -we are going! (We knew it was serious but didn’t realize how bad the cardiologist thought she was).

When my dad and I (John had to be at work) got baby to her appointment. The cardiologist says, “ is she that baby from —————? How did you get here so fast? I need to see her! I don’t know how she’s still alive!” He said her numbers from the hospital were higher than an adults high blood pressure.

At this point I’m freaking out. I thought my baby was for the most part going to be ok and mostly over her issues and now your telling me my baby’s life is in danger?

They check her out do ultrasounds and scans. Ultimately, the reason behind the high blood pressure was due to her being so fiesty mad, bull-headed and resistant to having her blood pressure taken. (SERIOUSLY, all that crap for this: she doesn’t like her blood pressure being taken! ) I’m absolutely serious that was the reason. I’m as confused as you probably are at this point!

One of my daughters strong personality traits is her strong will. And this was one of the moments where we look back and realize God gave her a such a strong will to get her through her really bad 1st day ordeal. We have chosen to embrace this exceptional personality trait and look at it as a gift. Because it helped in saving her life. Anyway.. They found a hole in her heart during the ultrasound. But now, we are coming up on a very important day. This August is finally the month where it has been projected and hinted at and hopefully will be confirmed that the hole is most likely closed up on its own. ( a murmur can no longer be heard, so we are hoping and praying).

We know She won’t need surgery. She won’t be having the life threatening strokes as a young adult. She will be just fine! It’s a really big deal at least for me as her mom. To watch her fight and now to have nothing stand in her way of having a successful healthy life. And that’s why I’m so thankful this August.

And that leads into a short version of the second half of my story. As you can see that’s a lot of crazy to deal with and it quickly spiraled me into Post Partum Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I would have extreme panic attacks, trembling, bursting into tears. Flashbacks. I had to delete stories and turn off the news everytime a baby or a child was hurt, or had died or had gone through anything terrifying. I became paranoid and I’m just now starting to get out more. I had a really hard time coping with being a first time mom with so much baggage. And one week it was especially bad and I told my husband, “ I need help right now or I’m not going to make it.” We immediately sought out help through our family, discipleship program at church, medically, and through a local pregnancy/health center. You could say we were armored up for the battle. And it felt like a minute by minute battle. I felt like a Jeckle and Hyde situation. I was so tormented but at the same time so happy to be a mom. So happy to have a beautiful daughter.

It’s been a couple months since going off medication, I’m still meeting with my guidance people. I still struggle. But nothing severe like it used to be. So please pray for me, for John, and for our toddler daughter.

And please talk about your struggles, what you’ve been through. There’s someone out there that needs to hear your story. I sure did. I heard several and those people got me through and got me the help I desperately needed.

I’ve learned a lot since having gone through this whole ordeal.

• God is always there with me.

• I can’t run my life the way I want it, I have to let God, as my loving Father, guide me through the storms of life. Trusting that He will get me through safely to the other side.

• I’ve learned how to process fear

• and not let it consume me.

• God is merciful and a good good Father, even when I want to blame Him and say why did you do this to me.

I know not everyone believes in God, but I know that I couldn’t have made it through without Him! Nor could my daughter have. Thank you Lord for your protection and plan, even when I don’t know the reason behind it.

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

The Start of Princess Sophia Ears: Childsize

This is my favorite print so far. You can only tell on some of it but there are sparkles all over the fabric that catch the suns light. I am branching out into child sizes because I would love to have my daughter and I match! These ears are based on her though. 😉 but because the print is so pretty I will probably make a matching set for me.

I am really into letting my daughter watch Princess Sofia on Netflix. The material is great and she’s always learning to be kind and reach out to her friends.

Ear Inspirations

Rafiki- The Lion King, my absolute favorite of her ears

So I do make my own ears, but I want to showcase another designer in this blog post

agirlandagluegun.com

Some of these are just absolutely amazing! Especially,  Rafiki from The Lion King.

I personally do not sell my ears due to Disney Copyright 😦 but others are willing to do so and have great product!

I plan to make Winnie the Pooh, Mulan inspired, and Minnie Mouse ears for my next pieces in my collection.

After that, I will be looking at these to see some character inspiration. One thing I will have to say about this websites ears, I prefer a simpler profile. And some of these ears are kind of complicated.

But anyway check her ears out!

Flounder- The Little Mermaid
Heart of Tafiti- Moana
Small World Ride
Merida-Brave
Hollywood Studios – Tower of Terror

Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather

Disney Movies Ranked-Part 1

Disney movies are so diverse and I LovE IT!

But this is a pretty fun list of movies ranging from dislikes to never seen before, to my favorite quotes!

Now remember there is another member (my husband) to this blog so this is my list and obviously part one to this blog post. In the near future we will be hearing from the “Mr. Disney” (John) what his favorite Disney movies are! 🙂

So here’s my list

1. Mulan- easily by far my favorite for many reasons, Her bravery, culture expressed in the movie, I just enjoy it very very much

2. Anastasia- based on a true story it’s very fascinating. As you read this story it is beyond heartbreaking.

3. Tarzan- so much fun! Phil Collins I mean come on what’s not to love

4. Beauty & the Beast (the Live Action)

5. Peter Pan

6. Incredibles

7. Lion King

You can probably tell what generation I’m from just by this list😝 but I love it. They are more easy on my heart strings than the others

My least favorite Disney movies which doesn’t mean I don’t love the characters because I very much do! I mean .. they are the iconic classics!! The reason I’m putting them in this list is they had some pretty scary scenes! I still don’t prefer to watch those moments. Don’t make fun of me now! 😉

1. Snow White

2. Beauty & the Beast (the original)

3.Bambi-his mom dies. That’s like the most frightening fear a child would have

Disney classics I’ve never watched all the way through!!!! I don’t know why I’ve never watched these all the way through? These weren’t the classics that were at my house when I was little so I just never got into them.

1. Pocahontus

2. Hercules

3. Hunchback of Notre Dame

4. Sleeping Beauty

5. Toy Story – I’ve seen a couple of them. They are alright- Don’t go crazy on me now ok! I know! What Disney obsessed person doesn’t adore toy story? I mean I’m excited about the New Toy Story Landat WDW. Maybe I’ll get more into it after that 🙂

My Favorite Quotable Disney Movies

1. Pirates of the Caribbean -I love Jack Sparrow- “I’ve got a jar of dirt!”

2. Emperor’s New Groove -“Demon Llama!!!!!”

Lame- I know but for some reason when I was younger, those lines made me roar with laughter!

Because there are so many Disney movies I was not able to have everything in my list! Like Moana, frozen, tangled, brave. All great movies! Maybe we will do some more future extensive line ups! 🙂

Thanks for reading my list! Let me know your top 5!

The BEST sleepy music for babies, toddlers, and parents!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CIbcEOQ9dg8

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I would play this video near my tummy. At that point I wasn’t sure if it was soothing her or what. She’s a toddler now and I know it had a lasting impact on her. I don’t do this very often, but some nights I will turn the video on and she’s out within 3-5 minutes. I know she remembers it because she immediately calms down. EVERYTIME! And I love it to ❤️ it brings back memories of feeling her kick around and just the beautiful blessing of pregnancy.

The music is very soft and I love how They are all Disney songs. Yes yes not everything has to be Disneyfied but this hits all the heart strings for memories at Disney world. It even plays a soothing version of small world! Which is amazing because the first time I went on that ride, I had a headache that lasted well over half the day. But not here!

So don’t fret! There is hope to get your littles calmed down after a busy exciting day! Just click on the video!

Our Favorite Disney Vloggers: The Tim Tracker

Tim Tracker is must know name in the Disney World. You Tube sensations Tim & Jen make a video every day and they’ve been vlogging for the past 9 1/2 years!

With millions of hits for every single video they produce, they are quickly becoming a Disney Icon while not actually belonging to Disney whatsoever.

While my husband and I have yet to meet them in person, that is one of our ultimate Disney goals someday. They no longer do meet ups due to their ever growing fame. So to catch an opportunity to say hi and meet them is holy grail happened upon by chance.

Jen and Tim live near Orlando and have annual passes to all the theme parks. While they do tour and blog on all theme parks, they are widely known for the tours of Disney.

Hugely inspirational, Disney has even extended VIP passes to Tim Tracker for pre-opening events. Their latest was just last month when Toy Story Land opened at Walt Disney World in Hollywood Studios.

Fans cannot get enough of their videos and recently, they announced that they would be shutting down their P.O. Box. Which is so unfortunate! I was planning on sending them a pair of my handcrafted Mickey Ears! But obviously they have received so much fan memorabilia that they have no more room to store it all.

The most important, I believe, is that this adorable couple embody the American small family spirit. Their dog Bandit also stars in most of the videos. This is their life and they embrace it to the fullest!

They are right in the action of the latest and greatest cameras for vlogging and capture the Today’s culture of taking hold of every moment on camera.

So thanks Tim and Jen for spreading the Disney Magic and making it easier for everyone to navigate the realm of Disney Theme Parks all the while being so much fun and entertaining!

Just type in The Tim Tracker on YouTube. The videos are addicting and we usually watch them instead of regular TV to get our Disney Fix in between trips 🙂

Let us know if you have had the special opportunity to meet these guys!  What’s your favorite Tim Tracker Video?

Don’t Forget Your Magical Disney Crew Members

Everywhere you go there are people working at the most magical place on earth. Every single one gets into character and lives and breathes Disney. How Disney makes sure that every single Crew member is magical and never makes a fuss, it’s a mystery to us. Everyone loves their job and has a smile on their face!

One of my favorite parts of being a Disney guest is seeing where are the workers are from.

On their name tag which looks identical every where in the park, is listed their name and the city and country they are from. The diversity is spectacular!

Especially when you get to Epcot and visit the Showcase of the World. Each country’s restaurant and gift shop employs people from that country.

Another of my favorite things to do when visiting Disney is to meet these people and here about who they are. So we do this when it’s a long bus ride back home and we are the only ones on the bus. Or if we just happen to naturally bring up conversation we will ask how did they decide to work at Disney? Do you have any kids, grandkids? We find out about who they are but everywhere we go, they never bash their job. Most say it’s not even a job to them.

Sometimes, my husband and I will try to ask them the real scoop. And usually we get a genuine answer. But everyone we talk to loves what they do and have usually come out of retirement to work for the Mouse.

That’s just so neat! So next time you are at Disney, get to know your bus driver! Get to know the crew worker. Get to know the business man sitting on you bus who is touring Disney for his job.

You will find more magic hidden in these peoples stories and experiences!

Tacos.. it’s what’s for lunch and dinner!

When I was pregnant, I craved tacos all the time. I never got tired of them. In fact, I became more obsessed with the taste of cold cool sour cream, and ripe tomatoes on to top of hot cheesy ground beef. I make them at least once a week. And I’m sure to make a bunch so that way it lasts several days.

The key to a great taco flavor is one packet while cooking, and one packet mixed with a little water after having drained the fat from the beef. Delicious!

What are toppings you enjoy on your tacos?

Momma life

Dear Tired Momma

I find myself as a mom, wife, human, so tired lately. My husband is so encouraging and a stronghold in our family. Im very blessed. As a newer family though, it’s hard to work the daily grind and figure everything out. All the sudden my toddler is learning all kinds of new things and I begin to wonder Am I teaching my child the most important lessons of life? Am I spending quality time with her? Am I being the best wife I can be for John? I start to doubt myself and let Satan’s lies tell me I’m the reason I’m tired. And I’m the reason I’m “failing.”

So I got to thinking.

Dear momma,

You try so hard to be the perfect rock. The one that supports the frequent emotions behind the toddler meltdowns. You try so hard to teach your children to follow all the right paths but struggle to find your own way too.

You give everything you have to your babies and then more than you thought you could.

You give your faith every ounce. And trust that Gods grace is enough to get you through. You know it is. But you still wonder if you will fail.

You love your man with everything you have, but the daily rush of life has got you only reaching out from afar.

Dear Momma,

Hold onto your Jesus a little more.

Hold onto your man a little more.

Hold onto your babies a little more.

And love yourself. Giving grace a little more.

And maybe hold onto your coffee just a little more 😉

💜xoxo

As always I do NOT sell my handmade ears! They go into my collection due to Disney Copyright.

Who’s your favorite Disney Character? Who would inspire your ears?

An Honest Disney Room Review

My family has stayed at several Disney Hotels over the last couple years. You might be surprised at some of the rankings.

1. Animal Kingdom Lodge-The Beds were amazingly comfy. We had a great nights sleep!

Highly Recommend Safari View if you are planning to spend a good number of hours at the hotel.

2.Pop century is actually my next favorite!! Surprising because it’s a Value Level resort! They just updated a bunch of their rooms and we had the opportunity to try one out! The concept is fabulous. One of the main beds goes up into the wall and creates a table and more space to walk around during the day. Once it’s time for bedtime, pull the bed down and it’s just as sturdy as the other permanent bed! We got a great nights sleep and the comfort level was as good as a moderate level!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ElA1KTVYxWg

3. Coronado -one of my favorites. Large, spacious and clean. Well designed. Relaxing theme. Although it’s not very Disney like because this resort is more used for businesses.

4. Art of Animation Little Mermaid Rooms-Small but well themed. Defiantly a lot of Disney Magic. Beds not as comfy as Pop Century or moderate resorts. Amazing Lobby!

5. All-Star Music – small. Ok for a couple. Not my favorite but definitely a budget friendly option.

Now I will tell you what we thought of the hotels that we visited but didn’t stay at.

Don’t bash me on this but we hated the contemporary. The whole lobby in the middle made it look like the rooms would be not so sound proof. If you have stayed here please let us know what you thought!

The Polynesian is beautiful but the lobby is sooooo busy, I’m not sure if we would choose to stay here on a relaxing trip. But awesome place to explore and eat!

But our ultimate place we love is Boulder Ridge. We hope to visit there soon! It is so quiet hardly anyone goes through there. So serene and beautiful! Plus the aroma that Disney pumps into the air reminds us of Christmas 💜 if I could own DVC there, that would be the ultimate dream.

So let us know where you like to stay! Let us know if you liked a resort that we didn’t care for! There is so much variety with Disney that there’s something for everyone!

Always Make the Most of Your Vacation

Always go with a plan. If you’re spending lots of money on a dream destination vacation, plan everything to get your moneys worth.

1. Book fast passes way in advance through Disney World app.

2. Book dinner reservations in advance using Disney World app.

3. Leave enough time in between reservations and fast passes to comfortably get to each ride, meal, ect.

4. Throughout the day check available fast passes. They will throw in extra ones while your there! But you still have to book them and it’s first come first serve. This is a great way to not have to wait in line!

5. Why wait 45 min in line when you could wait only 20!!!!

A Colorful Guide to Disney Springs

Disney Springs is just as magical as Disney World. There are so many exciting stores with so many fun experiences. Also all of these pictures I took myself! The warm bright Florida Sun paired with the beautiful colors at Disney Springs makes for an amazing day for shopping, relaxing, and exploring the world around you!

Best part about it is it’s FREE to get in and there are plenty of samples to try out!

So here are my favorite experiences.

1. Basin- a free spa experience try as many sugar scrubs as you desire the ambiance is truly relaxing

Free Sugar Scrubs for everyone! My favorite is orange dreamsicle. It’s so soft and luxurious.
Bath Bomb Towers

2. Rain forest cafe (fish tanks)- step on in to see several huge fish tanks and a jungle like atmosphere. Better yet come on it an eat some grub!

3. Ghirardelli- free chocolate samples and my favorite drink of all. Which is not even on the menu! They customized it for me and we told them they should nickname it The Gwen if they ever put it on their menu.

It’s basically a glorified Chocolate Milk. But it’s a cold hot-chocolate. It’s really a meal in itself if you get the large 🙂

I am fully enjoying my Cold Not Hot Chocolate

4. Uniqlo- this clothing store is not set up like American clothing chains. Step into another country and shop shop shop!

5. Blaze pizza- customer designed pizzas fired up in the stone ovens. Best tasting pizza pies!

6. Morimoto Asia- all your sushi cravings and it’s from a famous chef

Street Food Morimoto ASIA. Sushi Roll. Delish!

7. Sprinkles- a cupcake shop and cupcake atm! What? Yes that’s right! A cupcake atm. And the set up is perfect for an Instagram photo op!

Tokyo Bound!

Our Big Dream: Tokyo Disneyland

Our most recent goal, and this would be our biggest Disney dream yet, is to go to Tokyo Disneyland!

We have been watching a lot of videos mainly made by The Tim Tracker. (If you don’t know Tim & Jen you are missing out! Check out their blog videos online!

They recently went to Japan and were so inspiring that we have decided to make the trip overseas! Now when this will happen, we don’t know. We kind of want to wait a few years so that way our daughter can remember the trip.

Most people would say that Disneyland Tokyo is actually way better and more magical than Disney World which is ironic because Disneyland Tokyo isn’t even owned by Disney!

They do such a great job though and they go over the top for everything but in a good way! Between all the costumes the rides the atmosphere and ambience it’s an amazing two parks! I’m especially excited about the little mermaid theater as it’s very techy compared to Disney World little mermaid show. Also the parade has dazzling colors and exciting choreographed dancers. Plus the Fantasmic show blows the US version out of the water. It’s so good!

So I’m sure we will be posting more about our progress on planning the trip! So stay tuned for some exciting adventures!

So let us know in the comments how far you have traveled to go to Disney! Where did you go? What did you like about where you went?

Planning The Full Disney Dining Experience

Most recently, I have been working on deciding between upgrading to the regular dining plan or just keeping the “free” quick service dining plan that comes with our room. Quick service versus table service or buffets would be basically the difference between going to a counter restaurant like Culvers, and a sit down restaurant like Red Lobster, or in some cases a fancy buffet. We will be staying at the All Star Sports in November, which with the “free dining” promotion is about the cheapest you can go to disney, eat tons of food, and stay on property in the entire year.

For some extra money, you can upgrade to the traditional dining, which is around 22.99 per day per person. Overall for the 7 nights we will have the free dining (we’re staying an 8th night also at all stars booked as a split stay because of how the free dining dates fell) it would be around $320.00 extra. You also have to account for the tip. By doing this we would go from having 2 quick service meals per day, to 1 quick service, and 1 table service meal.

Including tip, we’d be about $480.00 for our overall cost to upgrade. We would lose the 1 quick service meal per day, but gain a table service or buffet. If we were to do the plan I have in place and paid cash out of pocket, overall the cost would be an extra $1100.00 for just the buffets/table service restaurants alone.

That’s a savings of around $600.00.

However, it’s a luxury to have table service over quick service. These are the types of decisions you get to make, when you save on the front end for  your trip. We’re in a less expensive room, so we have a lot more “budget” left for our trip. Since I pay for everything with gift cards I purchase on credit cards, and for fuel points, every dollar I spend only costs me around $.80 when you account for money saved on fuel and credit card cash back. So overall, our real cost would be $400.00 for what would have cost us around $1100.00.

Always remember to pay off the cards as fast as possible for zero interest.

Which option would you go with?

-John M.
